“We look back with nostalgia and forward with
excitement as Cloverleaf Elementary students and
staff celebrated the ground breaking. It is difficult
for us to let go of such a historic part of the Galena
Park ISD community, but we know the new building
will continue the legacy of serving the families of the
Cloverleaf neighborhood,” says Lee Brown, principal
of Cloverleaf.
Cloverleaf held their ground breaking
ceremony on May 22 surrounded by
nd
community members, elected officials and
both former and current staff members.
“Cloverleaf is so much more than a building.
There is something truly special about the
community, teachers
and administration at
Cloverleaf,” says Ofelia Garza, former Cloverleaf Principal. “It is about
family… I know the legacy will remain for future generations, and they
will maintain the family atmosphere which has existed since the original
campus opened.”
alena Park ISD is also turning the chapter on four other
construction projects, three elementary school rebuilds and
one new campus. North Shore Elementary, Woodland Acres
GElementary, Galena Park Elementary and North Shore Senior
High 10 Grade Center are all newly constructed buildings ready to
th
open this fall.
These projects are all part of Bond 2016, which Galena Park
ISD community members approved on May 7, 2016. This $290
million package includes the rebuilding of six elementary
campuses, a North Shore 10 Grade Center, renovations/
th
upgrades to other campuses and facilities and acquiring land
for future facilities.
We are happy to continue the story of success at
Galena Park ISD… Leading, Learning and Serving
students for 87 years. On behalf of the children of
Galena Park ISD, thank you!
